Connecting Innovators in Autonomous Driving to Create Strategic Partnerships
In 2019, SGT organised the "China Digital Tour" for senior R&D executives from Volkswagen, Porsche and SEAT, providing direct access to China's leading innovators in autonomous driving, artificial intelligence and smart mobility.
The tour facilitated strategic exchange with emerging technology leaders and offered early insights into China's innovation ecosystem.
Subsequent partnerships between Volkswagen and Chinese technology companies, including the CARIZON joint venture with Horizon Robotics and the strategic cooperation with XPENG - highlight the growing significance of these innovation networks.
Building Bridges Between German Continuing Education and Chinese Academics
In 2022, SGT partnered with the IHK-Bildungsinstitut Hellweg-Sauerland to support the development and implementation of the certification programme “Digital Transformation Manager” for Chinese academics and professionals. Through participant recruitment, intercultural coordination and academic mentoring, the project facilitated knowledge transfer between Germany and China, promoted international professional qualification and strengthened cross-cultural collaboration in the field of digital transformation.
Beyond professional qualification, the programme fostered a lasting affinity with Germany among a new generation of Chinese professionals and future leaders, strengthening long-term academic, business and cultural relations between both countries.
Expanding Export Opportunities for German Water Infrastructure Solutions
In 2017, SGT supported Moore GmbH in identifying market opportunities and establishing business relationships in China for PPR piping systems made in Germany. By connecting German engineering expertise with the growing demand for modern water infrastructure in China, the project enabled successful market entry and export development.
Beyond commercial success, the project laid the foundation for long-term cooperation between German manufacturer and Chinese partners, demonstrating the value of trusted international partnerships in sustainable infrastructure development.
